I'm looking into the possibility of commissioning a rather extreme rig as a showcase piece for the office...something built into a bespoke meeting room table with a large glass top and exposed internals. Multiple GPU's, SSD's etc, lots of neon, liquid cooling etc.

The Red Harbinger Cross Desk gives an idea of what I'm looking for, but built into a custom meeting table rather than a desk. Unfortunately these guys are US based and don't ship internationally. Plus it would would a fair amount of work on-site to install.

Does anybody know an individual or company who could take on such a piece of work? I appreciate it's an understatement saying that it's not going to be cheap!

Thanks,

Gary.

I would post something on the overclockers UK forums (forums.overclockers.co.uk). Quite a few people have done something similar on there and may be able to advise. Just bear in mind that promotion of OcUK's competitors is not allowed on their forums.

Scan have one of those on display in their Bolton store but it now seems to be discontinued. Maybe their 3XS division would build you something, if you throw enough money their way.

Can't you build one yourself? Aside from the bespoke case it's pretty straightforward, albeit time consuming.

Thanks for the pointers.

As to why not build it myself...whilst I do build my own PC's, this would be a show case piece in a corporate environment, so quality of construction and attention to detail would need to be spot on. Plus the table would probably need to be a bespoke build. I just don't have the time or the skills to do it myself.

Another shout out for overclockers, there's a casemodders subsection that will be happy to help out as long as you update the build!

Whatever you do, I would keep two things in mind:

1) Upgradeability. Ideally you'd have a giant case (or two) build in so that in four years, you could update the internals.
2) Noise. If the thing needs to run, keep in mind that GPU's like that make a lot of noise. Watercooling would be a nice addition of course (have it colour coded to the company's colour for additional effect).

You would be best off getting a shop fitter to create the table and then lay perspex on cut outs as required. You can then get someone into to build the bespoke set up (which is pretty easy tbh).

For extra points (and for something that could actually be useful depending on what you do I would add a microsoft pixelsense into the design.

I guess my main question is what are you trying to achieve apart from a cool table?
