It rejected my nationwide credit card even though nationwide are listed as participating.

What did you use?

I installed it but it told me my Barclays debit card was incompatible. Now uninstalled!

Barclays were the slowest to support Apple pay and have no date for android pay support

Surely it's still easier to pull out a contactless bank card rather than pull out your phone, wake it up and then use it?

Nationwide Debit cards are supported, credit cards are not.

I'm sure that it is, but it is nice to have backup in case of a lost card, especially as I live in London and the tube will be accepting Android Pay.

I also thought that it'll be usable for online purchases but I'm not 100% sure.

Ah, thanks for that. I wonder why.
So none of my cards support Android pay. Not an auspicious start.

It's only once you've used phone payment a few times you begin to question the need for a wallet! We're not quite at that point yet of course, but it can't be far off now.

Thanks for pointing this out OP

One of my MBNA cards works (VISA) the other doesn't (AMEX) odd.

Will try and pay with it later.

Apple pay on the watch is ridiculously easy, I just wish everywhere accepted contactless and I could do away with a wallet.

Except for when you need to spend over 30 quid?

Presumably this needs data/wifi access to work?

I can't even get my barcodes email from cineworld to load to show the ticket-scan guy in my local cinema when I go there so I'll probably be a luddite a while longer.

Well that was simple, just popped into coop to buy some beers for the footie tonight. Worked flawlessly. Even if the girl looked at me a bit weird.

Think it will come into its own when you can store loyalty cards and vouchers on it.

Perhaps not surprisingly, it doesn't work if you're rooted. I get something like "... unable to verify that your device is Android compatible" when I try to add a credit card.

That was incredibly easy. Phone looked at the card and it was loaded up. Now I just have to try it!

Sony Xperia Z2, HSBC debit card. I haven't tried any other cards yet as this is the one I use most.

ApplePay has no limits, just some (most...) merchant terminals haven't been updated to support > £30 yet.
