Lots of the shops near me have stopped contact less as they being back charged for goods with them saying it was not them and no way for the shop to prove it. I think this will go the same way.

You can steal my card or phone if I use the phone pay and buy goods and how do I prove it wasn't me?

I prefer to tap in my pin to prove it is actually me.

Didn't work with a Handelsbanken charge card or debit card, or a NatWest credit or debit card, so not much use to me yet.

If you're on Vodafone like me you can use their system with yours phone if you swap your sim to one that supports it. But you have to top up your account to use that rather than adding bank cards.

Can't disagree with that.

Anyone got it working with a rooted phone? Getting an error when trying to add a card.

Edit: yep, won't work but there might be work around

Except for when you need to spend over 30 quid?
Works over £30 but you have to unlock your phone (under and you don't need to).

Bye bye wallet...

Surely it's still easier to pull out a contactless bank card rather than pull out your phone, wake it up and then use it?
Not really. My phone is in the front left pocket of my jeans. My card is inside my wallet which is in the inside pocket of my jacket. Much easier to access my phone.

Does the app have to be running in the background all the time for it to work - does it drain the battery?

Installed at 6:20 this morning. NatWest card added at 6:21. Card refused at 6:22. Uninstalled at 6:23. Possibly the shortest time I've ever had an app

Shame

Yeah, thanks, Barclays, for not coming in to the Google Pay system or Samsung Pay system. Instead, they have their own one! Oh, but its only for Barclays Credit Cards currently - after all, I always use a credit card to make purchases under £30 don't you?

Very annoying as otherwise I really like Barclays and their online stuff.

Shame your bank doesn't support it - not a problem with the app...

It'll be Natwest/RBS wanting their own app.

I know RBS are rebranding to some wky name like Paul and John or something, perhaps they have other priorities. I might change banks anyhow I don't want a debit card with Wayne and steve or whoever they are going to call themselves on it.

If you'd rad the thread it would have saved you the trouble! At least you'll get an email to tell you when Natwest turn it on.

Had the app installed for ages, unfortunately my 2 banks (Barclays and Metro) aren't supporting.

I love the concept, and as others have said access to my phone for us generally much better than extracting a card from a wallet.

Also gives the option of just taking my phone when leaving the house rather than having to take both phone and wallet.

Lack of RBS support could mean they lose my custom though (40 odd years of it) if they don't get their finger out.
