Everyone else has already refreshed to the latest chipsets months ago. Is it me who is starting to find Apple a bit behind the curve these days. They seem to have lost direction a bit since Jobs passed.
Oh dear ,not this again .

Op,the pro is the one to go to. Well worth the extra. (not just because the others aren't great vfm)

I have a 5 year old 21inch iMac which I'm going to sell. It gets used about twice a month due to it being in a bedroom and I prefer the social aspect of at least being in the same room with the family while using the computer. For that reason I'm probably going to sell the iMac and buy a macbook pro. Im not laden with Apple products as I have 2 android devices but for a laptop I don't think I could go back to a Windows machine.
I'll keep a lookout for announcements on the new pro.

I'd be interested to see how much you get for your iMac/how easy to sell it is. I've got one of a similar vintage that I'll be looking to upgrade soonish.

I bought a MacBook, so I could be more sociable, but I've kept the iMac, as the big screen and a proper mouse do make a difference when doing proper work on it.

I've got a buyer for it at £350. I might buy a mouse for the MacBook as I find a mouse invaluable for moving around easily.

I agree with most of what is posted above. I have a 12 MacBook and a 13 MacBook Pro. The 12 is fantastic for 90% of everythng I do, where it falls short is more resourse intensive programs like Photoshop. I can also only attach one external monitor rather than the two on the 13.
If you can get away with the 13, then this is what I would recommend. If you need the extra features and power then go for the 13.

No announcement for a new Macbook Pro yet again. frown

This is getting a bit frustrating now, especially as we've already had leaks of it out. Apple just pull your finger out and announce it already, I'm getting tired of waiting for it.
