Unable to load link on YouTube videos on Android

I regularly get a message saying unable to load link when clicking on links to youtube videos.
A quick search online and the work around is to clear the defaults/app data which works for that video but the issue happens on probably 4 out of 5 links I click on.
I have tried stopping the app, clearing all data, un/reinstalling and the issue keeps returning.
Anybody else managed to fix it rather than work around it?
