If it's anything like their business offering it's basically useless. I've ripped Sophos out of a business before to replace with a new product and the flurry of warnings/detections/quarantine alerts that appear as the new software picks up all the stuff that Sophos left behind is scary.


AVG has gotten a lot better since they released 2016. The 2013 version left a lot to be desired when it came to detection rates.

MalwareBytes is also losing a lot of standing in my books recently. Come across quite a few nasties it doesn't detect whilst other anti-malware programs do.

ESET NOD32 if you simply want an AntiVirus or ESET Smart Security if you want a suite. Lightweight, normally does well in the comparisons, not that expensive (especially if you go for multiple computers/multiple years).
