Virgin Media - woeful...
Discussion
Was happy enough with Virgin but left due to the cost.
Now have Sky Q plus one extra box (free 32'' LG TV as new customer, rather than £10 off for a year)
Vodafone landline & broadband, my mobile minutes can be used on the landline. Only 42 meg but plenty fast enough for me.
£25 a month better off.
Funny how Virgin couldn't offer any discount when I asked nicely, but could when It was too late and I called to leave!
Much prefer the Sky menus & the Sky Q has lots of new features. Also you 'rent' the boxes like Virgin, so no warranty issues after a year ..

I'm dreading leaving VM, been with them for 16+ years and apart from a brief interlude with Sky for TV I returned to the full VM package when TiVo came in. Very reliable and every problem sorted quickly, and only 3 problems in 16 years I can live with.
I'm moving to a new house next month, no cable, a measly 76Mb is going to feel pedestrian and I may end up staying away from Sky and seeking 'alternatives'...

150mbps...you;re having a laugh....80 is about the highest we've ever had over a wired connection.
At the risk of stating the obvious - you are connected to the virgin box via a wired gigabit connection aren't you? Check what the active connection speed says on your computer. Perhaps your computer network card isn't gigabit capable, or perhaps even a cable fault is resulting in a 100mbps connection speed.I usually have no problem exceeding 200mbps

Mum passed a few weeks ago so sorting out this n that. Cancelled her VM account and gave my home addy for a return box for settop/router/remotes. Nothing in post. Tried getting thru to their "customer service" what a laugh that is. Gave my postcode....nothing.....tried again, gave my whole address 4 times....nothing. So Mr Branson, guess where your equipment is going this Thursday!!!!

My biggest gripe with Virgin is the pile of ste they call a Tivo box. It's so slow, clunky and awkward to use compared to a Sky box.
Edit: Fibre is amazing though, just done a speed test and got 211MB D/L
Cant argue with that, its abysmal, takes 30 seconds to bring up my shows sometimes.Edit: Fibre is amazing though, just done a speed test and got 211MB D/L
