Data Validation in Excel - Is This Possible?

I want to restrict the list of choices for input in a cell based on the selection that is made in a prior cell.

For example Column A is 'Category' and Column B is 'Subcategory'. Ideally, depending on which category is selected (I've got as far as defining a list of acceptable answers) in Column A, this will then determine what choices are allowed in Column B.

I presume that's possible somehow by way of a lookup to a list of which subcategories belong to each category?

That's the guide I used when I did it too. Might bookmark it actually.

The whole thing gets a lot more complicated if you want to go to the next tier though. Kind of like Inception.
