Personal favourite I did years ago in our lab. Dual monitors - rotate the second monitor 90 degrees in software and then create a wallpaper with the second screen rotated back to normal

Last one I did was to set a buddies mouse in jelly while he was on holiday and then on the morning of his return it was removed from the mould and put back in place. That evening he bought a box of all bran and emptied it over my keyboard

Not IT but filling an umbrella with hole punches is always a favourite.

Luckily I work in an office where most people enjoy the fun.

Very childish, but its amazing how many hole punch bits of paper you can get in a PSU fan, and if you have set it up right, amazing how far they travel when blasted.

Take control of the webcam , turn up the volume them stick on a certain site which sounds like cornhub when the boss is walking past.

Agreed. I can't think of anything less funny or more likely to result in a trip to the dole office.

I don't want to sound like humourless git, but nothing of this nature would be tolerated where I work.

To give one of many reasons, we currently have issues encouraging staff to take seriously and report any suspicious behaviour on their machines, even if they are pretty sure it's innocuous. Pranks like this would completely undermine the trust being built up there.
