You can buy them sim free from Carphone Warehouse...?
I ordered one tonight which will be delivered Friday - iPhone 7, black, 32gb.
Just beware that these are potentially less 'sim free' than the apple versions. They will lock themselves to the carrier of the first SIM card they are used with. After that you'll need apple to re-authorise them in some way. I found out the hard way but luckily inside the 14 day returns period so they were forced to take it back. I ordered one tonight which will be delivered Friday - iPhone 7, black, 32gb.
Obviously not an issue if you're planning on sticking with one carrier. See below:

So according to that link i'd need to ring up EE and pay them £8.99 to unlock it then it becomes a permanently unlocked phone or would it then get locked to the next sim used in it?

Had a 7plus/black/256 for pick up today at Covent Garden in my basket at 06:02 today, by the time I had signed in as my apple account, selected the appointment time and pressed the final "Order" button at 06:04 it was already sold out from under me.
I guess they really are drip feeding just 10 or 20 a day out at each store.
Only tried because I am always up at that time anyway, but yeah think I will just back off and leave it a couple of months, it's not something I'm stressed about getting "now".

All this stress and frustration over a new phone. Can no-one just wait a few weeks until the sad bd rush is over??
It's funny to watch, though Oh no wait, hold on, they have a 1TB one in turquiose down at the other end of the country, quick I'll buy now, even though I really wanted the black one with a quarter of the storage for half the price. Booked it, and driving down now.

well i ordered a 7 and 7plus - both arrived today.
After a quick play with each i've actually decided to go for the 7 plus and stick the 7 on eBay. They are going for very silly money indeed.
It's faster than my 6s - appreciably so. Fantastic camera and zoom.
Question... selling on ebay, how will you take payment and post it to make sure there is zero risk of getting stung? After a quick play with each i've actually decided to go for the 7 plus and stick the 7 on eBay. They are going for very silly money indeed.

Has anyone really got that stressed over this?
well they do every time don't they. Just do a twitter/google search and be deluged with the outrage. I have a friend who's wife works for O2. She always books new iPhone release dates off as leave, because the public are just so crazy and mean. She's had people crying, threats, just screaming abuse. People are fking mental, and not in small numbers.Rawwr said:

Doesn't the cynical part of your mind kick-in and question that?I strongly suspect that creating false, extended demand will work wonders for their next press release.
yes patience is the answer, but it's a poor trick to run
