I must say, so far I'm really pleased with my 7+. Admittedly it's probably in part due to the size update (6 to 7+) and the iOS changes but overall I'm enjoying this upgrade more than I have with previous changes anyway,

I wouldn't be entirely surprised if Apple don't milk the 7 and make an S model next year and release the 8 the following. Every single time there's an update there's rumours of this screen, that feature, this ability etc. Then it doesn't happen.

I will be intrigued though that's for sure.

I don't know about this one either, on one hand I think they might want to make a big fuss over the 10th anniversary. but would they really set up the production run for a new phone for only 1 year?

although the shape/size of the 7 is the same as the 6/6s, the metal case is completely different, no rubber antenna bands, camera in a new place, no head phone jack, then the internals are different from the six- different home button, secondary speaker, new chip....

I don't know the ins/outs of manufacturing- would all these changes take more than a year to recover the cost? or would they be 'cheap' enough to apple, to make it look different enough to boost sales, but still use enough of the old tech take make it commercially viable. then focus on bigger things for the 10yr anniversary?

I think the 7 feels more solid than the 6. Each of the 3 6s I had from Apple had flex on the screen, the 7 feels solid. I admit there isn't much difference and most of the differences I notice could have been had on the 6S, but it still a decent upgrade for me.

I think we might see' iPhone X' or even just 'iPhone' next year. I think it would be seen as too confusing to call it the iPhone 8 but then mention 10 year anniversary etc.

Had my 7 for a couple of weeks now. It replaced a 6 which I'd had since December 2014.

I was happy enough with the performance of the 6 but I was getting severly pissed off with only 16 GB. I went from 32 GB in my iPhone 5 and that kept running out of space so I figured I'd just be doing it more often. As it was it became a real pain (the culprit seems to be 'recently deleted' photos) so I went for 128 GB this time. Odd that there's no 64 GB option as I think that's where the sweetspot lies, especially paired with the 50 GB iCloud tier.

One the biggest things for me is getting rid of the awful crescent on the front-facing camera. How that ever passed QA at Apple I'll never know.

Haptic feedback for the button was a bit odd at first but now feels completely natural, better even perhaps than the physical button in many respects. Lack of response when the phone is coupled to a much larger mass is disconcerting though, i.e. when lying on a table.

TouchID is much faster. Too fast sometimes, especially when combined with the lack of physical movement of the home button. Takes a bit of getting used to.

Force touch is a bit of a gimmick, but implemented well I can see myself using it more and more. It's a pain in the norks when trying to move/delete apps though.

2 GB of RAM does make itself known though, with a lot fewer app restarts even after a fair bit of switching. Pokemon Go I'm looking at you!

Battery is comparable in that it'll last for ages if you don't use it. Be in a poor signal area and/or hammer it a bit in terms of apps/GPS etc. then you can basically still watch the battery gauge drop. iPhones can't get round the laws of physics in these scenarios though, it's pretty much like any other phone I've used.

Camera is noticeably better in low light and the OIS is great for videos, so chalk that up as 'mission accomplished' for Apple.

I never found the 6 was feeling slower towards the end of my time with it so I see no huge difference with the 7. Perhaps over time I'd see a difference but the 6 still felt commendably swift two years after launch, even with iOS 10. If only Android devices were that durable I may not have switched to Apple in the first place.

I've noticed this, its very odd isn't it. Don't understand why it doesn't vibrate the same. they didn't think that one through.

Weirdly I didn't feel like my 6 was at all slow, but after using the 7 for a few days and going back to wipe and sell my 6, I started to notice the little delays when doing things, how I was typing faster than the keyboard etc.

3Gb of RAM in the Plus model is great too, honestly they just need to put more RAM in all of them, the less reloading of apps the better.

It felt weird when I switched from Nokia to Apple many years ago! That extra bit of effort required to click a physical button.

Apparently, the iOS 10 at the moment isn't optimised for 3gb of RAM usage. People that have loaded the iOS 10.1 betas have noticed an improvement in fewer apps reloading etc to suggest 3gb usage has been addressed, likely as part of the upcoming portrait mode in the camera.

It's super quick.... I like that feature a lot. The phone is on and open instantly.

Am I the only one looking at the pics taken on the phone and thinking they just look like every other camera phone pic?

Yes, but if the phone is in your pocket and you hear/feel a notification and you just want to glance at your phone to see what it is, it takes a very deliberate 'grab' to remove the phone without unlocking it and obliterating the notification popup(s).

With the previous physical button you had an actual button click to overcome before TouchID would kick in. With the solid state button almost any kind of pressure seems enough to enable the button, and from there you're almost immediately unlocked.

Just takes a bit of getting used to, and of course the trade-off is superb response when you do want to unlock it in all other scenarios.

Looking at getting one, maybe today.

They've got a 7 in jet black in stock, but no matte black.

I'm unsure which one I want laugh

Apparently if you walk in to an Apple Store most now have phones available apart from the jet Black (including the plus) however they still show out of stock online - weird Apple marketing....

don't you know you're not allowed to say that on here.

There must be a supply issue to your browser.

GAME gave me £270 for my iPhone 6 64Gb today, quite how they think they'll make any profit I don't know but who cares!

iPhone 7 is typical new iPhone really, its better in every way, its nicer to use, but it hasn't changed how I do anything.
I'm glad you mentioned this, I just traded in my Iphone 6 at Game for £270. I was planning to go to CEX which I think are only offering £225.
