Hmm, I can see this happen relatively often.
It reminds me of the iPhone 4 glass back. It looks nice, but why would you make the back of a daily object even more fragile than it needs to be? Form over function at it's finest. Of course, you had the option of putting it in a case but then why make it glass in the first place?

Similarly, I'd be constantly worried I'd lose one of them. I'm pretty good at keeping earbuds in my ear, but wouldn't risk it without the safety net of a cable :/.
