A small number? Compared to what? The number of people who own Apple kit? It was a 50% rate in our house.
Everything's relative when you've sold over a billion phones biggrin.

updated to ios10 via wifi at work today on an iphone 6, everything went smoothly. think 10.0.1 has fixed any initial bugs already.

not really delved too much into it, but happy to have been able to delete some of the crap apps I don't use (instead of having hem all tucked away in a little folder) but I really like the new notifications on lock screen!

Quite buggy so far but then, that's no surprise.

Also found third party approved apps no longer show up in CarPlay even though they were updated to the ios10 versions.

How exactly do Apple manage to balls it up every time ?

Do they just not give a crap?

I worked in IT for decades, and releasing updates into production was normally a serious business.
Things actually got tested.

Facking useless.
I find it particularly amazing because they know exactly what hardware and software is in use. It just seems like either laziness or a 'thatll do' approach to release management.
On the other hand (and I've worked in IT for years) you can test and test and test all day long, but when you are releaseing to MILLIONS of users all on the same day, you just know that there will be issues

Installed fine. Don't mind the updates tbh.

But where is 'Slide to unlock"? Fair enough, they want to 'improve' things, but let me turn it back on! I fking hate this new home screen, it's st.

Apparently 14.5% of iOS devices are on iOS10 already - that is a lot of downloads!

Bricked my iPhone 6 mad

Surprisingly it worked on my 5S and iPad mini 2 earlier today so I went in reasonably confident it would be fine on the 6, but seems not.

What's more annoying is I can't seem to get it to restore, updated iTunes but it keeps spending ages 'Extracting software' then it will give an error about iPhone cannot be found. Not really sure what else I can try

That sound similar to what happened with my 6S. I just kept retrying, then left it a while. It started updating fine.

I had that happen to my old 5C during an update. I thought it was fked.

As per the above, just keep trying it and it'll eventually work. That's what I did.

New iPad has to go back, unable to fix without going to Apple.

Installed this last night with no issues, it looks like a decent update but press home to unlock is annoying, and you can't 'select all' from notes anymore which is irritating.

Similar to some other app I've been using for the past years: if you type: "Where are you?", it offers to the recipient to send you a gmaps with his coordinates.
Pretty funny but damn useful if the OH asks you, tap to send map, she can see traffic and everything biggrin.
