This is definitely worth knowing, thanks OP. Been a while since on a ferry, but just used to connect to their WiFi and carry on working. This was services out of Harwich to Esbjerg (now defunct) or Hook of Holland.

Only Voda and EE have any signal where we live, so Three's a non-starter for me.

Ah sorry I miss read I thought you had a Three phone but were using a different sim card abroad.
