hahahaha, why on earth would it be unpredictable.the algorythm simply has to show an estmate based on the rolling last hour's worth of usage, or whatever time works well.
It really isn't rocket science. If i has been going all over the place, then the time they are calculating it over is simply too short. so just lengthen it.
This is one feature I DO use. I think I can comfortably skip this OS update and live without the new or upgraded emojis as a consequence.
I guess it could be considered similar to the car telling me approx how many miles I have left and my current MPG - I know they are both estimates based on current usage at that time but an estimate which gives a ballpark is better than having nothing.
Plus, it works fine on my older models which have no battery issues, instead of these new crap models, so why do I have to have it removed from them!?
What next? 'We have removed the ability to display track time remaining when playing music...'

I'm a little wary of "the cloud" and what I'd want stored there tbh.
I do as you do with a NAS backup regime, and also have that backed up to another unit away from the house.
Reliably transferring that volume of data over my broadband would be a ball ache for little real benefit and some potential headaches if Microsoft aren't as diligent as I would want.
YMMV of course
(And for quick set up of a new machine I'd definitely be inclined to do it locally...)

I got a new pro touch bar last week. Very pleased with it so far. No problem getting a full 9-5 day out of the battery, seems to be around 20% left at going home time. Beautiful build quality. The touch bar is a unnecessary novelty but enjoyable to use and at the end of the day we don't all drive Dacia's.

what could possibly go wrong with automatically uploading all of your details/pics/selfies/bathroom selfies/bedroom selfies etc to the cloud?I do as you do with a NAS backup regime, and also have that backed up to another unit away from the house.

There's nothing important/sensitive/potentially life ruining on my OneDrive whatsoever. That all gets carried around on a USB stick attached to my keys, which is probably more likely to end up in the wrong hands.
I just like to think I can access them from anywhere and should I lose my laptop then it's less of a ball ache, that and access from phone and tablet if needed. It has taken a while to upload 300GB though. DIdn't realise I had so much stuff, mostly music and old photos of the none rude variety.

Is the USB stick encrypted? It amazes me how many people don't do this.AB said:

If you didn't know how much stuff you had, how do you know you don't have the "wrong sort" of stuff going up there?I just like to think I can access them from anywhere and should I lose my laptop then it's less of a ball ache, that and access from phone and tablet if needed. Had a play with a new touch bar MBP 13" today. Annoyingly it was quite good, its responsiveness is excellent and the apps I tried had found useful actions to put in the bar. The only thing I find annoying about it is the same for all touch screens - e.g. Those in car stereos; you have to look at it to operate it because there are no tactile features as there are on buttons and keys to place your fingers by feel
The thin keyboard works better than my first generation MacBook version and was nice to use actually. I also have a late 2014 MBP 15" and was always disappointed with that keyboard. Feels cheap and tacky, whereas the keyboard on my 2006 MBP is still solid even though the non-unibody case has disintegrated around it.
Surprisingly I think the touch bar could be a feature here to stay but what it feels like what the MBP really needs is a touch screen. After poking the touch bar for a couple of minutes I instinctively went to open another app by priding the screen. Doh!

It would be interesting to see the dock on the touch bar as well, maybe if it was double height or something.
From what I've seen as applications support it could have some very real world uses that make day to day productivity easier and more seamless, hope they bring it to the standalone keyboard personally.
