I don't really think they are overkill. They provide rock solid wifi over a big house for circa £100. I would pay a lot more than that for the the same outcome to be honest. The best thing for me is the uptime - once it's up, it's just up. I was forever restarting and resyncing extenders.

Setup is a breeze - 5 mins.
