Thanks for the suggestions.

I thought about the hamper idea but I thought everyone would be doing that so why not do something more practical and by buying them a monitor or some kind would mean they can concentrate on putting that £100 they'd spend on a baby monitor or whatever to a better car seat or cott or even to clothes if they wanted to get them.

I asked my mate in a way that he wouldn't get an idea and he doesn't think the video thing is a good idea so i'm going to go for a standard baby monitor i think!
No one bought us a hamper, I think thats a good shout personally

Last suggestion - wireless/video door bell from ring.com will make it easier to see whether it's worth answering the door when you're on your own and the baby's awake and you dont want to leave him/her

But I'll be honest - you're saying they like tech. That might well go down their list of things to be bothered about. If you get them something and it's fiddly, they really wont have the time or patience to fk about with setting things up and troubleshooting if it doesnt work. Other things take higher priority and it ends up causing stress that no-one needs. Just go simple

Give them a 3hr babysitting voucher (i.e. you babysit said baby). Or several.

They'll appreciate it more, trust me!
