Anyone gone from the 3 to the 3T? I know I know but I find the battery can run down fairly quickly and wonder if the 3T's battery makes a noticeable difference!

I'm still on the 3 as I didn't see any real benefit in going to a 3T. If the 3 were to die I would get a 3T though.

I've got a 3 and my sister's got a 3T. Obviously we don't have exactly the same usage, but the 3T's battery doesn't seem to be night and day better than the 3's, nor does the 820 vs 821 SoC seem to make any noticeable difference in performance (benchmarks etc excluded).

If I needed a new phone today, I'd get a 3T. However, I wouldn't bother upgrading from a 3 to a 3T unless something happened to my 3.

I think the 3 came out in June 2016, so about a year later for the next full update (the 3T doesn't really count) would be my best guess.

However, it may well be more expensive. Every OnePlus flagship has cost more than its predecessor so far. The base OP1 was £230(?) at launch and now we're up to £400 for a base OP3T. It wouldn't surprise me if the next OP flagship was £450-500.

I like my 3T very much. I used to need a charge or two a day on my clapped out old Nexus 5. I am quite a heavy user and very rarely do I need a charge during the day. Got no complaints with mine.

I restored my 3 over the weekend to factory settings (everything comes back from your Google backups after a couple of hours). Made quite a big difference to battery

Phone arrived today.

Just in the process of setting up. Have to say initial impressions are excellent and the quality seems very, very good. Shame I didnt order one day later, as I missed out on the special black edition. Ho-hum!
Probably the right choice... I have been wary of black phones chipping and showing silver scratches since the iPhone 5

I thought likewise but I'm quite pleased with graphite, so far. Seems a great phone.

The graphite case is really scratch resistant, I've had mine since Nov and it's been dropped, in pockets with change and keys, looks mint still.

I bought a few tiny usb micro to usb-c adapters so I can continue to use the multiple existing cables

Initially I felt the same, but USB-C is just *so* much better, especially when plugging the phone in when in the car. No fumbling around just bang it straight in first time (missus).

Just had mine out of its bumper case and it really is a lovely and very tactile thing. I hate phone cases but I know I will break it without one.

For those looking for one, I was torn between the Orzly and Ringke clear bumper cases. Went for the Orzly one in the end but it has discoloured on the rear edges and is a bit yellowy brown. Just bought the Ringke for about £7 from Amazon and it is much less bulky and the volume switch is more accessible. Should have bought that in the first place!

I've never used a case on any phone and never damaged one. However, on the OnePlus 3 the camera stands proud of the body which kind of necessitates a case in order for the lens to be flush with the case rather than proud of the body (if that makes sense). It's almost as if they designed it with a case in mind.

I've used my 3 with 2 personal SIMS for the past 6 months for travel abroad and i have just switched to using my work and personal SIMs in the same phone as i was missing too many calls from forgetting to charge both phones. My work phone is an s6 edge too and i don't like it. Personally i love having two slots. Works seamlessly.

In the UK does the 3/3T handle two 3G/4G sims at once? Only I found *after* I bought my OnePlus2 that it only allowed one SIM to be 4G and the other 2G, which isn't available any longer! So I had to keep using two phones...

Both SIMs on the OnePlus 3 run in full 4G.

Both sims can run in full 4G but not simultaneously, you can only choose one sim at a time to be active for data, you can however switch between them through the quick settings in about 30 seconds. I have a 3 data sim as a backup that I can switch to when EE plays up. Both sims can call/text in/out at any time though.

As for a case I agree on the camera standing proud and have the official sandstone case on mine, which is the nicest case I've ever used, lovely grippy surface on it. I had plastic phones for years with no cases which bounced when dropped but find the metal bodied phone (my old Moto X in my case) dent and scratch the first time they hit the floor...
