Recommend me an Office / Computer chair

OP - you need to try ANY chair you are considering. I wouldn't bother internet ordering as you'll only have a ballache sending them back.
Now on the Ikea chair, I'm with EdT. I tried a lot of different chairs. From the magazines/online sites I thought two others were the obvious choices, one ANOther Ikea chair. But on trying them I found the Markus great and by far the most comfy. I also have a lot of experience in Herman Miller and other "top end" chairs as used in offices and prefer the Ikea chair (though that's not hard as I always find Herman Millers a pain to adjust properly and have yet to get one properly comfortable despite the daft cost of them).
I'm a larger athlete (6'4", long legged, 16st - though it will take nearly 19st well too...) which may make the Ikea one more comfy for me. But I like it a lot. Well worth a try.
I'd also strongly recommend a proper desk rather than a dining table etc.
Funny really. I'm a more modest 5'8" + 11st, but - for me - it's spot on. Yes it's quite firm - again that suits me. Now on the Ikea chair, I'm with EdT. I tried a lot of different chairs. 100% agree with the comment to stick your bum on a load of different chairs before you buy. What's impossible is testing how good your arse/back would feel after a long day in one of course.
My friends got a Herman M and I was dying to try.. finally did a little while ago & didnt really like it. I must be an odd shape!

I've owned 2 Markus from IKEA & v happy. Not massively adjustable if thats important to you, but plenty of lumbar push & suits me well
I've said it before on other threads on this subject and I'll say it again - I strongly suggesting trying one of these before buying. I bought mine on the recommendations on this site and absolutely hated it. ...not sure about budget - but i've used a kneeling chair for a few years now, specifically to help with lower back issues.

Takes a week or so to get used to, but now i'd never use anything else. The 'balans' part of it - you can guess the translation, means you naturally sit with a more correct posture.
Just thought i would put it up for an alternative option to standard offerings.

Plan is to get a sit / stand desk so i don’t want a large chair in the way when standing.
anyone have any alternatives that i should consider…?
£350 is a fair whack to pay for a chair like this ( I have seen that are a lot more) but with more home working, there might be a alternatives I have not considered.
I did a search and this was the only thread with varier in it, so some thread revival going on...
