Personally I think PC is significantly better but it also costs much, much more for a high end build. Also if you do spend thousands on a PC you want to connect it to a gaming monitor not a TV really. For a 4K TV I would probably go with a PS4 Pro.

PC will have far superior performance if you spec it correctly, however it will cost far, far more.

Obvious question is do you play online and if so which platform do your friends use?

I don't play online just with myself eek

Spoke with Overclockers and they say the PS4 is scaled down to 1080x1920 which is what I'm on at the moment.
Maybe just upgrade my card to 1080 from 970 gtx but that's £500
Not sure the rest of the pic will hamper it.

I'm running a GTX 970 currently and I've got a 4K monitor. I can run a couple of titles at 4K but would upgrade to a 1070 if I had £500 lying around

PS4 will game at 1080.

PC will game at 4k but only if you feed it the right gpu.

IMO a 1070 isnt enough to get good gaming at 4k, its a 1440p card, for 4k you will need a 1080 gpu.

You can game at 1080 on PC with far less though and upgrade later, a 960 will do 1080 easily.

As for the rest of the PC, windows plus 8gb ram and a moderate cpu ( i5 or so) will be fine.

I've got both. The PS4 does the job great for the same games but I'm not a big fusspot when it comes to these things.

The new PS4 Pro does 4K, not many games are set up for it yet though.

Lots of games require you to be online and have PSN account before they will even work so you'd need an account for some games and that costs about £5 per month so budget that in when you compare.

For me the PS4 is just fine, I'm a casual gamer and mostly play online.

PSN costs £39 a year.

PS4....put a game in, download latest updates and play

PC....Put a game in...download latest updates....start game, make a note of error code when it crashes, google error code, download latest board/GPU/Sound card ect drivers, start game, put settings to max....wait 20 minutes and give up, restart games, put settings to medium, then play, look on line at others playing at max settings, go online to price up new GFX card, order card and await delivery. Install new card, new drivers, load game......install new patch for new GFX card, put setting to max, start game.....wonder why PC has just turned off, start pc and then game with the same result. start PC again, google issues, order new memory and new PSU, await delivery, install new memory and new PSU, start game, play on max settings......go online and look at screen shots from others....download mods, start game again....go back online and order new monitor....await delivery....get board and turn on PS4

Extreme example I know, but is the main reason I gave up on PC games, you seem to spend you whole time trying to get the most out of the look of the game instead of playing it. I know there are many who are happy to put the time and effort it to PC gaming and are rewarded well for that, but these days I just want to enjoy playing a game, and for me the PS4 gets me to 90% of where the PC could get me, and quicker as well.

What utter nonsense. I can't even remember that last time a game crashed on PC. Download on steam, install, direct x, set your graphical settings and play.

My PS4 has crashed a hell of a lot more than my PC ever has, plus online is god awful.

This 100%. Every game I have played on the PS4 has been great for graphics. Personally I just don't see the point in paying thousands of pounds and lot's of effort to play a video game!

Sorry but with games like GTA V, I can assure you the griefers on PS4 online are NOTHING compared to the modders on PC Online, same goes with most of the online games on PC, there is always a raft of modders ready to cheat there way to screwing your game up, YouTube is full of videos of exactly this for the PC.

As for PS4 crashes, cant remember the last time mine crashed, maybe yours is badly placed (no ventilation).

As I said, there are those who are more then happy to put the time/money/effort/all of the above into pc gaming and are well rewarded for it. For me and many like me, we only have a couple of hours here or there to play, and a PS4/XBone fill that point nicely.

You sound like you haven't played a PC game in the last 10 years .. it's not more complicated than the PS4 at all. Just download the game in Steam/Origin/whatever and play it. It couldn't be easier.

Having to put a disc in and then wait for an update, how quaint.

Your experience of PC gaming is very out of date.

The fact is you're simply talking nonsense though. You don't have to put any more effort in to playing a PC game than you do on PS4 or Xbox, it's simply a misconception trotted out by the uninformed. There's also a difference between modding and cheating BTW.
