Buy a "case friendly screen protector" from Amazon

I use them with several different Spigen cases.

the plastic/vinyl protectors seem to be better than the glass ones in terms of overall use , feel , etc.

The Whitestone Dome glass protector works with the spigen neo hybrid, that's the exact setup I have on my S8+
Ouch at £40!
That's only because it comes with a (and I st you not!) USB nail varnish UV curer...

The use for the kit is to cure the adhesive, but I'm on my second protector now as the first certainly saved me the £hundreds it would have cost to have a new screen put in!

Has anybody suffered from screen burn? Mine is beginning to show it very badly.

On the right hand side of my screen, I have two widgets - one for email and one for messages. They now show up on other applications. As I type this, I can see them in the background - I can even read the headings ('All accounts' on one and 'Messages' on another. Although they're white backgrounds they are visible on apps that have a white background - they look almost orange. Don't show up on screenshots though.
Can also see some of the shortcuts at the bottom of the screen.

It's not even the original screen - I had a new screen fitted by Samsung almost exactly a year ago.

I admit the screen is on almost permanently during my working day. But this still seems very poor.

There's an app to fix it (called AMOLED screen burn or similar)....in fact, mentioned here:

Thanks - am trying it now so we'll see if it improves anything.

Well, the app made absolutely zero difference - even running it for about 20 hours in total.

However, the good news is that almost exactly a year ago (9th Sept) I had a replacement screen fitted by Samsung after dropping the phone. Just called them, and the screen burn is covered under warranty. I can get to the repair center again on Saturday, which means I can have a free replacement screen with just a day to spare.

I'm doubly glad that I got the replacement screen at the official Samsung repair center now!

Has anyone had the glass over the rear camera lens break? I noticed mine had smashed lastnight, a hole in the middle and shattered. I had a look around and there are replacement glass kits for around £5 on Amazon, so I've got one of those coming. The broken glass should come off with hot air and tweezers, the new glass sticks on in place. It's just over 12 months old too hehe

There are a few support and Reddit threads about this happening randomly by itself without being dropped or anything. Mine is in a case.

I don't have a case (sacrilege on a phone like that IMO) and that has not happened to me. Good luck with the £5 fix.

Well my journey with my S8+ came to a stop, it started doing funky things with charging. Replaced the cable and plug, still no change. You had to really force the cable in the phone to get it to charge, stopped fast charging 1 day. Taking 9-10hrs to charge from 20% to 100%, amd only surviving maybe 4hrs of use throughout the day. Just couldn't do it, I use my phone as everything my laptop very rarely gets turned on. So as of Black Friday, went to see 02 about the issues, got told to fix the charging port issue wouldn't be economically viable, so trader her in. Got told it was a common issue on these phones!?!?!?! Although never heard of it before personally

Ah put you back on the contract gravy train.... My S8+ does everything for me and unless it breaks in any significant way I'll keep it going post the 24 months and get a simple only deal.

How much did they ask for the port replacement?

I've been meaning to get a clock radio with wireless charging, just for convenience but apparently also to spare the charge port use smile.

I've used one of these for the last few years on my bedside table which has been faultless and great for snoozing alarms etc wink

I can count the number of times I have used the port for charging on both hands
