That review just hammers more nails into an S8 shaped coffin for me.

I use the fingerprint sensor on my S6 and I know beyond a shadow of a doubt, that the sensor position on the S8 would drive me nuts.
I've had the S8 for a few weeks now, and have no problem with the location of the fingerprint sensor. I have the LED case, and it makes the sensor recessed. I also hold the phone with my left hand, which allows me to use the sensor quite naturally with my left index finger.

Also, stuff like editing themes etc requiring online connection (if I understood the Reg's review) - dafuq?!
I assume this is so that you can buy themes, but I can't say I care for themes so not a deal breaker for me.

Add in size increase between? the S8 & the S7 and it becomes a complete non-starter for me. Which is somewhat annoying!
I don't mind the size, but that's more to do with fat fingers and poor eyesight...

Bixby, regardless of it's efficiency, isn't a selling point for me - no AI assistant is.
I haven't enabled it, so can't say it bothers me smile

I was curious about the HTC U11 as well but turns out that's not floating my boat either. So it's either an S7 for me, or wait to see what the new Pixel is like.

Damn! Nerdy first world problems paperbag
I started looking at cheap Androids (my previous was a Moto G which was excellent), but the superior screen, memory and performance of the s6/7/8 attracted me. Using man logic I convinced myself that it was cheaper in the long run to get an S8 rather than a cheaper phone (buy the right phone once, rather than the wrong one twice).
