I've googled this, but all the 'solutions' have failed to fix this.

Recording a video using the phone, and no sound is heard (other than a hissing) when replayed. If I record a voice-memo, all is good.

Tried a reboot, reset settings, restore, messing around with airplay, turning bluetooth off, and a few other convoluted ones.

Any ideas?

Cheers

To add to this. It works OK with the headphones plugged and, and therefore using the headphones mic. Also works normally with the front camera, just not the main camera.

I had a strange battery indicator problem with my 6S recently & no amount of resetting / rebooting / restoring / new firmware would fix it. Eventually I found a post online which encouraged the user to do a factory reset and 'set the phone up as new'.

I backed everything up beforehand, did the full factory reset & setup as new. The problem was solved, so I then restored everything and the problem did not re-occur.

I'm not sure what the setup 'as new' bit does but it seems to go one stage further than just restoring or updating firmware... If you have run out of ideas, it might be worth a try.

Tried that too. I think the mic is screwed.
