Yesterday, one big flash and one clap of thunder and my internet hasn't worked since!
Add to that my house has the worst phone signal and I've been a bit screwed. Any idea what is likely to have happened? Down detector doesn't seem to suggest any issues with Sky?

I'm in London all day today so hoping I'll find time to get on the phone to them, but any ideas what may have happened? Have tried the usual resetting the router etc, to no avail.

Has the fuse for the circuit it's plugged into popped. Checked the box?

Your hub has probably acted like an expensive fuse... I've lost several to lightening strikes on my old BT copper line.

Probably a case of giving your ISP a shout and order in a new one.

Happened to me a few years back.
Flash of lightning, clap of thunder & no internet.

Weird thing was that the PC (laptop) would work using a different router, and that other PC's would work on the original router.
But the combination of the lappy + router in use when the lightning flashed never did work again.
Never did figure it out. Eventually a new internet provider & the problem resolved itself.

Well, for the first time in my life I must give some credit to a company's service.

At my mate's house now so I have phone signal, 5 mins on the line to Sky's automated robot thing, it ran a couple of tests then said the problem is solved. Checked my remote camera etc and it all seems to be working! That was unexpected.
