Ad-Aware Spyware Detector:
www.lavasoftusa.com/software/adaware/

IrfanView Image Viewer:

PHP Designer (IDE):
www.mpsoftware.dk/phpdesigner.php

HTML Validator:
www.htmlvalidator.com/lite/

Firefox Internet Browser:

Ah! But I've seen machines with McAfee on that I've had to use AVG to clean up... touche'!

Edit: Ethereal Useful for locating virus-ridden machines on a network, sniffing pop3 passwords for people who've forgotten them, all kinds of stuff.

FileZilla. Free FTP app.

CDex. MP3 ripping tool.

VirtualDub. Movie editing and compression tool.

Mozilla Thunderbird. Companion to Firefox.

Trillian. Ad free and multiple connections to various IM networks.

MP3TagStudio . expansive mp3 editing tool.

PDFSU. Speed up Acrobat reader opening by culling all the crappy plugins that insist on loading.

MS Movie Maker (no url), but a fairly handy method of making movies. With SP2 it even supports saving to avi.

Download it from (gosh!) Microsoft. And it'll edit MP3's, too.

This is a good place for Linux ISOs and whatnot.

This is where you go when you bugger up your master boot record then realise you don't know the XP Recovery Console administrator password...

grc.com has some useful stuff, not all of it free.

They do however offer a very good free firewall test called Shields-Ups.

Keep them coming! Here's another one I found recently:

GB-PVR - neat-looking personal video recorder/media centre app for those with Hauppage TV tuner cards.
www.gbpvr.com

Does anyone know of a good freeware cd/dvd cloning utility for making backup discs? I prefer to use copy discs in the car so that when they get scratched, I can just burn another.

Thanks!
