I think that may have been the MS publicity machine, as he was quite negative about their stuff. Still writes some very small and neat code

www.ccleaner.com/

clears out a hell of a lot of crud of your pc. took 1.9gb of temporary files that i didnt know i had, and gets rid.

pooter still works as well

Sygate firewall.
www.sygate.com - look for the personal one.

I used to use Zonealarm but this one is much better and faster!

I've found completely the reverse - used to use Sygate, but the last update just wouldn't work and kept crashing, so I switched to ZoneAlarm and haven't had any problems.

How can I really get free off these spyware/adware on my comp for no charge????????

and also run Adaware

There are some more of these types of programs but the above two are the best in each of there fields.

I found ADAWARE actually contains ad viruses itself. IMO an AVAST Schedual reboot will clean your machine.

It doesn't contain viruses but because of the actions it takes in system scanning it causes false alarms with some virus scanners.

I was alarmed that my pc has been infected by spyware and now even after cleaning it still pops that alarm window up. Also messed up my internet homepage url and says just about:blank now.Not able to change it??
