Sony K800i phone users

Have any of you checked the date today? I ask this as my phone is displaying "01-eee-2007" When i go through the date change every september is down as "eee".

anyone know if there is there a firmware release to fix this?


I've searched the net for the issue but found nothing on gogle and im usualy a master of google searching, however the stress of being a dad in a few weeks may have changed my ability to search. lol

Mine is ok - not sure what to suggest other than master reset - after syncing all the data?

Mine's fine.

While fellow K800 users are here, how do I use the flash as a torch (as in the flash stays on)? A friend can do it on his older SE phone but I can't figure out how to do it!

Don't think you can. The older phones just had a very bright LED you could use as a torch, while the K800i has a xenon flash, just like a regular camera.

i have a k800i and downloaded a small app which allows you to use the flash as a torch. Not quite as good as old model, but it does the job. have a search on net for Torch app.

I cant be arsed with resetting the phone for the date..

Got everything backed up anyway but one of them things where u still miss somthing.

I wouldn't think that it would be healthy to have the xenon light as it seems to be high intensity and im sure it must have to have a high voltage to do this e.g. using a capacitor to store the energy.

Just a shame it's hidden in a menu to run the application.

Done a master reset and that cured the date but then the menu's came back up (not acessed WAP or anything) and now i cant send txt messages, ive reset 3 times and i just get message failed and thats it and keeps saying it..



Swapped simcard and same thing.



should i be reporting this to SE to get it fixed? also my camera button on side of camera dont always reach the bottom to take the picture it kida gets focus then stops and i have to press a few times.
