For all those after "Just a phone"
Discussion
I've got one while taking a break from the Blackberry
It cost 10 quid (plus another 10 PAYG credit) from Carphone Warehouse. As a phone it's good. Anything else - well, it just doesn't do anything else. Don't be expecting to send long rambling text messages, or for that matter, don't expect to be able to read them easily!
But for some reason, I like it

I bought one of these for £9 from Asda (including £1 Orange credit) about 2 months ago as I was fed up with my SE K?610. Also I am going away travelling for 6 months so thought this phone would be ideal. I paid a tenner for it to be unlocked and have been very happy. The quality is very good. It can be frustrating to write text messages on as it doesn't have much in the way of punctuation, no full stops or exclamation mark for example, you can't write capital letters and it doesn't have predictive text. However, just as a phone I have been very happy so far. The screen needs to be seen to be believed! Cool in a retro calculator type way. As a plus point it hasn't got scratched and there is no dust behind it yet, whereas my SE was scratched and dusty within a week.

The father-in-law picked up one of those. Very basic phone (good), large easy to press buttons (good), seems to get a good strong signal from Orange (good), can be a bit weird to use for those used to Nokia's (meh).
Thinking of getting one for my work phone.
"Nokias".Thinking of getting one for my work phone.
HTH!

I suppose I'll never be one of those people after 'just a phone' with my rampant gadget hacking addiction but I'll be recommending this one to friends... that's a seriously low SIM-free price for a GSM phone, especially a nicely designed, slim model that appears to be of decent quality. Clever screen as well.

I notice that all the techy phone people I know are more interested in the F3 than they are in the latest iteration of the RAZR.
Time to move on, Motorola.

I've got both.Time to move on, Motorola.
Time to move on.
The F3 is great for site work, dont care if I drop it or stand on it etc.
The V8 is just a nice little phone with some nice little features. Waiting for someone to get amongst the Linux/Java side of it though.

For me, I've already got the brick that does everything. On the other hand I really don't want to loose the sodding thing (flush it, step on it, etc) where as... this little thing, just for work, well.Time to move on, Motorola.
Time to move on.
Besides, that 'e-paper' screen makes it an instant interesting gadget in my book
Picked one up as a disposable phone for someone visiting from the states for a week.
For someone who calls a handful of people and nothing else it's perfect. The battery lasts longer then anything I've used before, it's light and small and there are no confusing menus to get lost in.
However it is limited and a nightmare to do anything but make calls on.
Hopefully someone else with a bit more UI expertiese than motorola will copy the concept and make something groundbreaking.
