I used to use torrents, but newsgroups are way better.

newshosting.com for the files, newzbin.com for the nzb's and newsbin pro5 is the tool you need to download them

Newsgroups...
My profile allows mail. Any chance of which groups you snatch from and who your provider is?
www.newshosting.com for the account. www.newsleecher.com for the searching/downloading software.

With the supersearch facility on Newsleecher you don't really need to worry about knowing which groups to subscribe to, unless you are just browsing and grabbing anything which looks interesting. You can still use the supersearch facility to give you ideas on which groups to browse. E.g. alt.binaries.multimedia, alt.binaries.boneless, alt.binares.cd.image etc. There's a reasonable amount of mac software about too, but the encoding/compressing has me beat at the moment.

I'm a member of one of the best music torrent sites on the entire internet, and have plenty of invites - but all the people I've invited have leeched like hell and uploaded nothing, so these days I invite nobody.

currently had a problem with client, despite telling the client to put torrents into one directory, it shoves the links into another, so bit of cleaning of old files and 3/4 my screen vanish. all dumped files get securely erased. Upload at least 1.2 ratio, but set for 2.0 for now

Naturally some files cant be uploaded if no-one grabs them, but do understand that the system only works if you upload and this is esp true if ur the only uploader for a torrent

might well look for an invite when hard drive space is a lot clearer smile

I know what you mean. I let my housemate use my account on a really good music site, where I had a fantastic ratio. He leeched bucketed loads and left me with a ratio below 0.5 and a frozen account. Previously it was above with 80 gig or so uploaded!

I still haven't been able to get back on it frown

Actually if anyone has any invites for trance traffic... scratchchin
