Even for me, this is going to be a mind numbingly banal thread.

I need some memory sticks, 30 to be precise, for a schools job next week. They need not be very flash (no pun intended, but if it'll get me a titter ill take it) as the kids will almost certainly steal them at the end of the day. or break them. or steal then break them. or stab me with them.

usually i get this kind of tedious nonsense from ebuyer, but they're not showing anything for less than 8 quid a go, and there isnt enough money in the job to afford to waste 240 quid.

Likewise ebay is only showing affordable stuff in japan and rather bizarrely amazon is showing the kind of thing i want (like a couple of quid a piece) but when you go to order them it adds 100 quid of postage. so, I'm stuck, and I'm tired of looking now, after 3 hours of trying. can anyone recommend somewhere to get something like this from? please?

if it helps, in the past Ive been able to get kingston data travellers for about 2 quid a go, but all memory sticks below 5 quid seem to have just vanished.

thanks in advance, and apologies for the dullness.

You could always try "OK class, for the next lesson, I would like you all to bring a memory stick in. If you havent got one, you will need to ask mum and dad to get you one as you will need one for your N/C ICT work over the next year or so."

Try Tesco - cheap & cheerful ones from only a few quid (Technika is there "own brand" IIRC)

Juts had a look at tesco.com and they are not showing in there, so next time you are stocking up on beer & fags, have a look...

IIRC my cheap one cost less than £3

this is more like it.

theres a bunch on amazon for 2 quid, does anyone know why ordering them creates a postage bill of 80 quid plus? i could drive there for cheaper.

did you see Muntu's post earlier in the thread about scan knocking them out for 2.49?

I think he wins the prize.

Yep they are supplied by a third party who have to give Amazon a cut of the purchase price but not the postage. Got really excited by some 1p bluetooth dongles before figuring this one out

No worries, but you could have found them an hour earlier if you read the reply from Z4monster on page 1 hehe

Then frankly I wouldn't bother. They can sit in an empty room and rue their misfortune.

i tried this once. they didnt rue their misfortune, but they did both regret and lament it.
