I'm trying to set up an AOL connection on a friends computer.

He has a desktop PC already on AOL, I want to install a WiFi adapter into the PC and set it to share the AOL connection over WiFi with a laptop on a peer-to-peer network (there is no wireless router).

Can this be done?

Yes, You'll be wanting ICS, although he won't be able to use the same AOL logon on both machines at the same time. Some AOL stuffs have multiple family style logons, these could be used simultaneously last time I tried.

Get ICS working and the peer to peer wireless working so that you can access tinternet on't lappy when AOL is open on the desktop. Then install AOL on the lappy and it'll use the ICS connection. That's it.

Oh, while I remember, don't do that - get a router hehe Faster, better, easier...

Cheers for that. I know get a router was the easier option, but I'm setting up for a mate and a cheap WiFi dongle is cheaper than a wireless router!
