Struggling to get a 2nd generation Shuffle to be recognised by Itunes.

It connects to the computer, appears as a drive in explorer and as an Ipod in the device list. However, neither Itunes or the Ipod reset program can see it.

The shuffle is fine - it works perfectly with another computer. I have also managed to connect a Nano in the meantime. I have tried using other USB ports and uninstalling the Ipod many times but am now drawing a blank.

Anyone have any ideas?

Try.....connecting it to the computer. Then go into 'My Computer' and right click the iPod Shuffle. Then select eject from the drop down box and try it from there...

Had the same thing with mine, for some reason it just wouldnt have it, same as you it would show up as a drive but not be recongised by Itunes or Winamp.

I tracked it down to an aftermarket lead, I usually have one in the car and one at home so bought an extra one. Used the supplied one and it was fine.

Still having no joy with this. I don't think it's the lead as it works fine on another comp.

Ruddy frustrating it is.

If you haven't tried it already, I had to update itunes to the latest release a couple of days ago to get my new shuffle to be recognised.
