Restoring Laptops to original state and then selling!
Discussion
Guys i currently have a 8 month old Macbook and a pretty old Toshiba Satellite Laptop (large with a big screen). Macbook is great but its annoying me that i still don't know how to work everything and have to resort back to the Toshiba for doing things and that i can only carry the Macbook.
So i have ordered a new Dell which should come in a week, which can do everything i want.
Now i want to erase everything on both laptops so that i can sell them. How would you do that on both computers ?
Also is ebay the best place to sell on used laptops?
Thanks Guys

The Macbook is easy.
Just put the OSX DVD in the drive and follow the instructions and it will wipe the disk and reinstall the software.
After reinstallation, just after the funky intro video, just shut the thing off.
When it is turned on on again it will start again as new and the new user can enter their details etc as if it were new out of the box!
I have had a Dell too, and I dont think that is too much different, although I think you would have to reinstall Windows fully and set it up.

www.killdisk.com for your PC.
The Mac format options on the operating system disk do the same as this. I think their most secure format option turns the whole disk to ones then nought and back again 8 times or something to remove any trace of what is there before.Gassing Station | Computers, Gadgets & Stuff | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
