I am looking for a reliable external hard drive, 500GB+, with the option to password protect if needed. Any recommendations? I have come across the new Maxtor onetouch 4. Has anyone any experience with this drive?

cheers.

A friend & colleague of mine has one of the Seagate FreeAgent Pro's, he's been really impressed with it and I think it looks really cool as well! Which is obviously the most vital part of computing stuff! hehe

I've got 2 WD mybooks for different laptops and have vowed never to buy WD's products again.
What's the point of using them for a backup if you're never sure if the things are going to work.

looking at network drives soon, thinking of a blank caddy and seagate drive, 500 or 750 GB smile

desktop ones are nice, but get a brick, the ones that sit in a caddy thing and stand vertical, die a quick death if knocked over whilst live

any one bought the new Maxtor one touch 4? Was thinking of this drive, £109 on the high street for the 750gb version
