Dell Vostro 1700. 17" Screen. Core 2 Duo T7500 2.2GHZ 4mb cache. 3GB Ram. 320GB HD. Nvidia 8600M GT 256MB. Vista Ultimate.

Seems a good deal at £674 all in. The exact same spec Inspiron weighs in at £980 ish.

Having looked around I cant find a sim spec for under £1k !

I'm waiting for a smaller model Vostra to arrive slightly lower spec but 3 years onsite warranty, XP pro (I'm steering clear of Vista for the moment!), upgraded battery and other bits and pieces for £431 plus ordered through Quidco so I get 10% cashback.

Good deal - mine's due to arrive around the 14th biggrin

Even better was discovering that my work has a Microsoft Home User account so I've bought Office Ultimate for £17 biggrin

Anyone who works for the NHS can get that, but it isn't widely known.

I work for a mid sized law firm so I guess it's probably quite common but it was well hidden in the realms of our benefits webpage.

I do have to return it if I leave the company though...

Not totally sure how it works but I thought there was actually no charge for the software itself - all your getting is permission to use the licence. The £17 is a fulfillment (ie handling) charge. So I wouldn't have thought there would be anything to actually return?

It's not really very clear what the charge is for and what one would return.

Clearly being an honest lawyer I will do whatever is required of me at the time but I've no plans to go anywhere for a while biggrin

I am told though that Office 2007 is very different to the 2003 versions that I'm used to so that might be fun!!
