Staples have a Fujitsu Siemens one on at the moment for £299, got one last week and it's great, nice and light, quiet and doesn't get very hot. 1.86GHz, 1GB, 120GB, all I need really.

couldn't comment on the finance deal option

BUT

Samsung is getting a very good reputation out here in Singapore and SE Asia in general!! Good design, good build, and proper quality!

My laptop is a Samsung R50 and in the 2 years I have had it have nothing but praise. I`m no computer expert but can`t rate it enough - my 1st choice was a Sony Vaio but the Samsung was the right choice in the end.

I always bought from Dabs as well. They WERE an excellent company. Never again. Last two purchases have been nowt but hassle.

Wife replaced a VAIO with a Samsung and I't been pretty crap in comparison. Hardware has been generally ok but the track pad is ste, keys have dislodged and paint is wearing off easily. It's been replaced with a Dell. Wouldn't buy again.

Surely the problems were related to Sony and Samsung though rather than dabs?

I have always used Ebuyer for all components and peripherals. I'd check them out. PCworld is the most expensive way to buy anything comouter related. "Internet prices for people without out pc's to actually check".

I compared it to an HP in Tescos and decided the HP keyboard was far better.
The £330 tesco HP appears to be the current best buy, unless you want a real computer and buy a macbook - but they cost much more biggrin

Sorry didn't make it clear. Problems with Dabs were unrelated to the laptops.

Wrong I'm afraid, they were the cheapest I could find for a macbook and are not as uncompetitive as they used to be.

confused, confused, confused, confused, confused I don't get it. So they were the cheapest place to get your macbook and you think they are more competitive than they used to be but you still don't rate them? Your a hard customer to please!!! Not sure what I have got wrong there to be totally honest?
