Nokia N95 fix

Hi,

Did a search and yes founds lots of posts about this awful phone! I have the older silver one and only got it in Jan '08 after it was recommended by the sales person.

Anyway. I upgraded the firmware to the latest version, after backing up my files, and then proceded to reload through PC Suite. I tried many times, even tried rebooting, reloading PC Suite, resetting phone etc etc it just hangs at 55%, 10%, 85%.
All stuff I found on Google gave me these "top tips", and all from Nokia forums (a forums for a phone! Get a life )

I eventually found a bit of software that extracts .nbu files, among others, and it extracted all my contacts (250!), messages, pic etc

Curious.... I've had one since they came out and it's been hands-down the best phone I've had! Came unstuck this week though with the latest version of the software updater suddenly not being Vista compatible even though the previous versions were. Madness.

They are a good phone, it's just people have been having lots of problems with them and slating them for that reason.

I have a N95 that works fine and I like it as a phone.

my friend had one of the first n95's and i rememebr him saying how bad it was.. mainly the battery life and dropping calls etc.. anyway 4 months later i asked him what he was using as it was my upgrade time, he said n95, nokia had replaced it and admitted the first batch had problems, he then went on to say it was the best phone he had ever had

so, i got myself a n95 8gb and never looked back ....

Mines been pretty damn good with the latest release or 3 of software.

Anyone else having difficulties connecting the N95-1 to a WiFi access point that has MAC address filtering enabled ?
