I acidently threw my Dell Latitude D820 down the stairs today, it bounced rather spectacularly end over end, the CD drive popped out and so did the little slot for some sort of card.
It finally stopped when it smashed into the door at the bottom of the stairs.
laptop is completly fine. uPVC door has got a nasty dent in it though.

We had one in at work that came in looking like someone had pelted it with golf balls all day. The guy chucked it on the back of his bike every day and it was being shaken around loose. It came in for a software issue and was otherwise working perfectly.
Someone else had his kid knock bubble mixture into one while it was running, that killed it.

Might as well be ally I suspect but it sounds flash.
I reckon you could quite easily beat Micheal Dell to death with a Panasonic Toughbook.
