I am with AOL/CarPhonewehouse/Talk Talk and they have recently started blocking P2P/Torrent downloads. If you do a quick Google you will see that they are all at it. There was an article somewhere about the 6 big ISPs having got together to shut this type of downloading down, can't find the link now.
If any ISP advertised the fact that they offer unrestricted P2P/Torrent downloads within stated limits they would pick up a lot of business.
I for one can't see why they are allowed to do it if you are within the fair usage limits, which I am.

just looked at my stats for the month, 20 GB downloaded and 121 GB uploaded, obviously not with a major isp and have no issues seeding ubuntu and other freeware torrents :-)
www.thinkbroadband.com and www.dslreports.com are both places to visit to check out the smaller ISP's

I'm with sky aswell, still works if you go through proxify
Could you explain how this works please? My ISP has software that can see through encryption etc to identify what you download. I can download anything other than P2P/Torrent at full speed no problem.
