I keep losing network signal on my phone and its not just in locations I would expect to lose it, its started disconnecting at work, half way through calls, at home and down the pub. All of which I used to have good connection all of the time, I suspect its my phone again, but was wondering if anyone else is having issue too, just so they cant say the usual crap after finally getting hold of them that the network is suffering from a few technical issues.

This has been going on for over 2 weeks now and Im in SW/Central London/.

Could be worth a look for you lot, I cancelled last week, no point in having a orange contract if I don't get reception 75% of the time.

I've ALWAYS had crap reception on my work phone, (as have all of my colleagues). I regularly lose reception driving round the M25 FFS! I've had 4 different phones, so it's definitely the network.

H/O have finally seen sense, and are switching over to O2 next month! biggrin

IMHO Orange reception has gradually got worse over the last few years. My parents barely have any coverage at home - I used to get a full signal there.

Trouble is, Tmob is no better, O2 are expensive & Voda have crap CS by all accounts rolleyes

I thought it was just my phone playing up but generally when someone tries to call me they get to my voicemail even if the phone is on. Might have words with Orange and see what they say.

Had that, but the bit that I really fking dont like is that my phone will lose connection and then not reconnect until I activate the hand set and then will start searching for orange.

If I leave it on the connect will be fine.... until I take a phone call and then its just a matter of time before it disconnects me... The longer I speak the crapper the signal gets until... bang... the signal is cut off and I ring the people back apologising for the signal rather than me hanging up on them.

That looks almost too good to be true! I'm dying to upgrade and get a phone where reception works in my office, can you get good deals as a new customer with places at the moment?

Thanks for that, I had a few months left on an 18 month and as above a few problems with signals. I had that text, so called them up.. Had to wait about 10mins to talk to someone.. the lines were "very busy" according to their automated person, I wonder why? laugh

The bloke on phone tried to offer me £10 off my contract, which with 4 months to go means I'd get £10 off £120. I know there are better deals out there for the tariff I'm on, so now cancelled. Guy on phone sounded a bit dejected after that and was a "yeah, alright, I'll send it out". Guess a lot of people are doing the same.

I just did the same

First guy was properly aggressive, and told me I'd have to buy it out as I hadn't got the text, the next guy offered me £9.99 a month line rental and a £5 data bundle, PAC code is in the post smile

HTC Hero time I think smile

My girlfriend gets her broadband with them, so I think she's going to phone to try and get a better deal rather than cancel.

Just been looking at a Hero as well. Will go into a shop and have a play with it, but looks like it has potential.

I have never had a problem with Orange, never drops out calls etc. They do have a weak 3G network though which will harm them going forward, especially now that o2 and Voda are going on a big mast sharing scheme to increase their bandwidth

Glad to see people are getting use out of the link, remember to ask for your PAC code if you plan on keeping your number to port to another network.

I told them about it and its 'apparantly' the phone again (this is the 4th one), if this one fails again (it will and in 4 days, I will make sure), they will offer me a different phone of a similar spec.

Considering I have the top of the range HTC touch, I expect the Nokia N97, HTC Hero, Blackberry. I know full well I will not be offered that.

If I want to cancel they want their cancellation charge, even tho its their system that means I can no longer use their network and not me just wanting to cancel, they also had the cheek to say they are not obliged to give me a new phone, it is done as a gesture of good will and they could if they wanted just demand money and tell me to take a hike and be stuck with a broken phone/dodgy network.

After that last statement from them last night Im not sure they can save themselves this time....

Quick question, I asked for my PAC and they said I'd be paying another bill (Billing date is the 10th)

I can't remember, but when you order a new phone do you pay your first month up front? I'm confused as to when to take the billing date from from my new phone!

You have to pay another bill as they need 30 days notice, but keep in mind that your pac code(once it arrives) is only valid for 30 days so your contract will run until you port your number.

Not sure about the paying first month upfront as my new sim has only just arrived but will let you know if they take anything out my bank.

I haven't had the text, does this mean I will be getting one or will it be a royal PITA for me to cancel my contract?

I only spend £25 a month but am pissed off with the signal I get and also quite fancy an iphone.
