...or maybe you're just such a bunch of spiteful twunts he went to ask for help somewhere else? (OK granted he didn't seem to know there was a silent button)

Have you all got it out of your system now though? Because mine does this exact same thing.

To explain it more clearly, if the phone goes into standby it will not ring. When it is woken up, it will flash up with the "ringing" screen, then show me missed calls. The problem has lasted through numerous reflashes, reboots and re-angry shouting. I now have to keep the phone plugged in at work and stop it from auto-standby, or ring people back.

To the OP: google it (pistonheads obviously not being a helpful place in this situation) although i've not found a solution that works yet. I've not updated to the absolute latest software yet though (recent computer reformat) so maybe that will fix it.

It could be unrelated but I also get a lot of texts very very late, sometimes days late.

In his defence..

I've had this a few times, no alerts and no click sound when typing.. Just a turn off and on fixes it.

Your google-fu (a phrase I have shamefully stolen from another poster!) is lacking.

The standby problems were frequent for a lot of users with one of the earlier 3.x versions of the OS. Upgrade to the latest and it should be much better.

Ah sweet, domo arigato sensai.

See, that's the right response. Whether or not I now choose to admit I'd kinda given up and my googling was done in novemeber is another thing.

3.1.0 (or what ever it was) was a terrible build. Lot's of 3g connection issues, the standby problem and several others. Just checked mine and I'm on 3.1.2 upgrade to that.

Macrumors.com is usually a good place to find info on issues and bugs. There is a lot of fan-boy crap to filter through but you should find answers (or at least others with the same problems) on there.
