Spoke to a guy in the Apple Store at the Florida Mall yesterday. He said he wasnt expecting any info on the bumpers until Monday earliest. He did tell me that you wouldn't be able to get your free bumper in store, nor your refund. Apple allegedly will be sending them out after you have ordered online and providing cheques for a refund.
Going back to battery life I'm quite relieved as I expected things to be much worse than my old E71.
Charged it yesterday evening disconnected about 7pm. As I can't drive at the moment I've had to dial in to an all day planning meeting - 9:00-5:30 - it's now 5:13 and I've still got 21% battery life left, 8 hours continuous call.
after 8 hours on the phone it's just about the only thing I'm happy about......

That's insane! I don't think my 3GS could do that... I've never had an 8 hour phone call to find out though! Charged it yesterday evening disconnected about 7pm. Believe me you don't want to...It doesn't happen very often but for the last year in the company all travel has been stopped unless it's to a customer - as I'm not a salesman and my boss is in Germany I'm stuffed....
In my experience GPS doesn't kill the battery as it's only used when an app needs to use it, Wifi also is only using battery power when connected to a wifi hotspot. 3G and Bluetooth are the battery killers as they are always on when activated. 3G is only needed if you want to use data on the move, it's not necessary for phone calls and Bluetooth if you are using a hands free kit.

Wifi does as it's always scanning for access points, you will see a difference with it offSilent1 said:
Have you got 3G, wifi and Bluetooth on or some of them switched off as 3G hammers batterylife
Yup, all of them..... I hung up from my marathon 8 hour call at 17:30, it's now 22:54 and there's still 8% left. I'm now going to charge it up as I need it tomorrow
I've got a 4 though...

Why then does it go off when my phone screen goes into sleep mode then reconnect when I turn it on? That's what I mean, 3G doesn't go off when the phone goes to sleep.
I'm with you on that one - wifi turns off when the phone is sleeping. However I guess when you're taking calls etc, it's hunting with additional drain.Gassing Station | Computers, Gadgets & Stuff | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
