My bumper arrived yesterday. I like it but the phone no longer fits in the dock and all the old USB leads from previous gen ipods / iphones no longer fit in the port at the bottom. So you have to take the bumper off to recharge it. Hugely annoying.
I just cut away the plastic to increase the size, works fine now with the old big leads. Can't speak for cheap 3rd party cables/docks though.

Those are two persistent rumours about both the iOS and iTunes platform (cloud storage) and the handset (smaller, cheaper, less well spec'd).Neither would be a surprise for me, as both seem entirely logical. I haven't read the piece but Apple are close to completing an enormous new data centre in North Carolina that is rumoured to be powering the cloud storage, and cloud based storage is freely available, robust and cheap from the likes of Amazon anyway. The main barrier for most people would be bandwidth on 3G networks. Despite what I thought, I do hit the 1GB cap on my data most months, and I'm not a frequent mobile user of stuff like Spotify or Dropbox. If I was hammering a cloud service to access my music collection, Apple would need to get Vodafone to lift my data restriction before I could be encouraged to use it as readily as I would on-device storage.
On the 'phone, Apple need to do something to stop the relentless march of Android. A cheaper point of entry into the range seems to me to be the logical way of doing it, and it is a strategy which has delivered for them on iPod very successfully, to the extent that there really are no other contenders for mobile music storage devices, are there?

iPad 2 is pretty much confirmed to be getting unveiled sometime this month and the specs seem to have leaked out, people are now starting to gossip about the iPad 3!

Shirely you mean iPad 2 and not 3?

If the iPad 2 isn't much more than the first iPad other than facetime etc. then I think they will have to release a higher spec iPad later this year. Android tablets are going to be moving so fast this year that as soon as the iPad 2 is out it will be out dated. It will still sell though, I think.

I couldn't give a fk. I was just pointing out the obvious.
What, so they have called one phone an 's' and now its obvious that every model will follow that?I personally don't think so. There was a reason the 3g was called that, because ofits network, the 3gs was the same phone but just facelifted, I cannot see how they would arrive at 4gs.

So, (not having a go as we are all entiled to our opinions). You think they will bring out a new iPhone and not upgrade the current model? I personally don't think so. I think so. It has had its critics and has some fundamental issues. i.e. its horrid to hold without a case.
But the 'g' aspect of the other phones was relating to the network speed, the current phone is not 4g, so I could maybe see a 4s? But I think there are too many issues with it to warrant them doing more on that platform.
