As has been mentioned. Returns can be difficult. The owner is an arse and this is reflected in a lot of their policies/procedures.

Their owner (who was a PHer - but no longer posts) made some interesting public comments a while ago...
"Spie" being his name on the forum? He's had some decent motors that I've seen posted on their forum.

What were the comments?

Edit, not hard to find. Just Google "Spie Overclockers" and it all becomes clear wink

Indeed, most of his more colourful posts are in googles cache. He deleted many of his posts after someone outed his tendencies. A DDoS attack was launched against them around the same time.

I bought my last PC in parts from them, no issues with delivery and prices. Not had cause to use their returns system, and probably wouldnt anyway.

Definitely wouldn't use them again in light of Spie's comments and the attitude of forum moderators who seem to espouse the views of the owner. Had I known all this I'd never had lined his pockets.

I would agree that their after-sales isn't great.

I was sent an item which appeared to have things missing on it. I sent them a request to their sales department asking if the parts were meant to have been supplied, since I wasn't sure if they were meant to be present or not, and if they weren't, what was I supposed to order.

A week later, I sent them a reminder that they hadn't replied.

Another week later, I sent them a further reminder - to which they eventually replied to say that I had to contact the support department, which I did.

A day later, they then pointed me to the manufacturer's web site - which didn't mention anything about these parts, so I replied back to tell them that, and that the picture shows the bits I was after.

A day further later, I told that the picture didn't show it, so I made a screen capture of their website and highlighted the bits that were missing.

Yet another day later, they sent me a link to their terms and conditions which mentions that things may not be the same as the picture. Sure enough, that particular term and condition was present - albeit in a different font and style to the other 19 terms and conditions.

I have not ordered from them since, and I've asked them to remove me from any lists they have of me. If they'd replied on the first day to say "Sorry, those parts are not supplied, and you need <x>", then I would've been happy with that.

I had a monitor fail early this year. As requested, I sent it to the UK importers for repair. This was over 6 months ago, and they are now not responding to my (polite but firm!) emails. When I approached Overclockers about this, they basically said go boil your head. Actually, they said go away and take legal advice, its not our problem. Asking around, this seems to be their typical response to a faulty item.
How long after purchase did it fail ?
3 year warrantied monitor, just after year 2. Repair support provided by the manufacturer's UK agents. Had to jump through hoops somewhat to get them to accept to repair it (photograph of dated invoice, original packaging etc). After 3 weeks, I got a reply to an email:

Good Morning,

Thank you for your email.

Your unit has been tested by our qualified engineers and they discovered a part is required to complete the repair which I am afraid we do not have in stock. The part has been ordered and as soon as stock is available it will be shipped to us and your unit repaired right away.

As soon as the repair is complete we will contact you to arrange a convenient day for return delivery.
Reply to my email to the vendor in July asking if they were willing to take any action replied with:

Dear Mr Xxxxxxx,

As the item has been returned to Digimate there is little that we can do to help facilitate this for you. I would suggest that you contact Trading standards regarding this matter.

Regards,

I've used them before. Not had any problems personally but have heard of people having issues returning stuff. They are also quite expensive, especially on postage

Another thing is their forums are even worse than PH for over-zealous moderating. I was banned for a mild 4 letter swear word.

I really don't see why you would use them, because of the extortionate delivery costs its very rare for them to be cheaper than Scan, Dabs or Ebuyer. That along with the apparently racist/ homophobic owner and poor after sales would make me steer well clear.
