So I fully charged my battery last night. It's now on 4% and I've only looked at a couple of texts and checked in on a couple of games. (You know the type that reward for a daily login.)

That's with a big battery as well.

Not ideal really, would be nice to have a phone that could comfortably stand by for 2-3 days!

I've just done the OTA upgrade . I'm with T-Mobile / EE . It's working fine with one small gripe. Every time you change home screens or app screens it speaks the page number out loud . I've had a look at all the settings but I can't figure out how to turn it off and it's really starting to irritate me .

Anyone here having the same problem or know how to turn the voice off

54 minutes on battery and I'm on 91%. I've sent one message and read one reply.

Motion is all off, and checked various apps that I can find to make sure they're not syncing too often.

I just seem to have dreadful luck with battery life. I have also found that every phone I've had for the last 5 years runs hot to the touch on the back, coincidence?

having just noticed this thread after having an S2 for about a year.

i have to ask

what is the bigger battery compared to the normal one? i mean in amperage and volts and 'stuff?

and is this a good one to get???

http://www.amazon.co.uk/DIGITALJIMS-SAMSUNG-3500ma...

I can I get a different type of back cover for the phone? as i really dont like the gloss and much prefer the matt look?

Newly upgraded and now all when looking at pics in my Gallery there is a stupid yellow box around faces. Clearly some form of face detection but I dont know why and I dont want it. Any ideas how I turn this off?

Dump the stty Samsung gallery for an app like QuickPic which is better in every way would be my suggestion.

Ok, phone has now been on battery for 16 hours and 10 minutes. Did about 40 minutes of reading a text based web page earlier. Down to 35%.

An additional update popped up at the weekend so I installed it last night (using Kies this time) and it seems to have addressed my battery issue. After installing JB my battery life had practically halved but after installing this new update it seems to be back to normal. Currently 74% after 15 hours, albeit including wifi being switched off overnight.

I noticed that in the battery stats after installing JB I was seeing a few big apps such as maps, gmail, facebook etc. all using 2 or 3% each despite me rarely using them. They're not even listed now.

I'll see how it goes over the next few days.

I put mine in flight mode during the night. Stops unwanted alerts but keeps alarms working.

Well my S2 upgraded over the weekend. All of my apps are in different places, so I had to spend a while sorting them back out. But didn't loose any data.

However I did notice a crack right across the screen yesterday frown

It's insured, I think!

Thread resurrection chaps...

My battery is now worn out after over 1,000 recharge cycles and I'm after opinions on what the best replacement battery is...so...any suggestions?

All advice gratefully received.
