Mine never died it just had a cracked screen. Good call as using as an mp3 player, micro sd cards are cheap.

We've got two, one has been decommissioned by the sister in law, and only because she got a new phone from work (boss was probably feeling sorry for her).
The other one is a play thing for the kids.

Both of them still work fine.

I do agree with the "first smartphone that got everything right". It's a tight race between the iPhone 4 and the SGS2. Although personally I think the screen on the older smartphones was just too small.

I only resurrected mine a few weeks ago so I could use it as an offline satnav with Hear Maps on holiday and as a backup satnav and phone in case my Note 2 suffers an unexpected failure. It's doing its new role very well.

It's hard to believe it was only four and a half years since I got the S2 as it was my first proper smartphone. Indispensable now!

I'm still using a S2 too, it does everything that I want my phone to do so why change.

I really don't see the point in paying £500 - £600 every couple of years to get the latest edition just to do exactly what I do on the S2.
