Samsung Galaxy S II
Discussion
One of both will deffo be my next phone, unless apple comes up with something good meanwhile.
I'll be curious at the "best" screen, as they are totally different, in both resolution as execution. From what I've seen from design, the HTC looks better, but the SGS2 has the promise to be the thinnest phone on the market, and with a 4.3" screen, that could give for an interesting "feel".

How do you get the cashback on those offers? I'm seriously considering the O2 offer, for 149.99, 90 cash back and then 13 a month for 18 months, just I can't see on the website how you get the cashback.
Also I am currently on Orange, have about 2 months of my contract left. Could I go to O2 and then when my contract is done with orange change my number over, or would I have to change my number within a set time of getting a new phone?

Really stingy on the minutes and data though. I would have thought the phone needs more data than that to get the best out of it so you'll probably need to factor in more data cost.mondeoman said:
Went to get one from O2 today - "sorry, none available, don't know when we're getting them"
Same in T-Mobile...
Oh dear.
This is strange i phoned O2 about 2ish and ordered the S2 as an upgrade, will be delivered Wednesday i'll post a review on here after i've had a little play.Same in T-Mobile...

Strange, those in store should've known the delivery date is tomorrow for stock seeing as there was a notification sent to everyone. The only issue will be how many each store recieves and at what time the delivery will come. Playing around with one, very nice and very smooth. The screen is also phenomenal. The only gripe I have is that it's so thin, makes it feel as if it may snap in your pocket.

cool - time to call the store in the morning then, go and have a play!Just ordered one, waiting for confirmation (from buymobilephones.net), £20 for the handset, 18 months at £30 a month, 600 minutes, texts and data from T-Mobile, plus, hopefully, £30 cashback from topcashback. That will be a very nice deal if it all works out.
If you don't mind 24 months contract, that can be lowered to £20 a month with a £100 handset and £40 cashback.
Considering it costs ~ 500 SIM free, I can't see a cheaper way to do it.
It had better be better than the original SGS. However, I've not read much negativity about it from any quarter. Even my iphone owning mate, who has sworn by iphones, is tempted.
In the end, I thought, whats not to like? Touchwiz "enhancements" or programs are not that extensive, and you can quite easily get a very near vanilla android experience with it if you so wish, and you are getting a phone with the nicest screen in the business, a pretty damn good camera, and their multimedia capabilities are beyond most, if not all of their rivals, and you get stupidly fast hardware to run it on and on a nice big screen and with battery life that starts to rival that of the iphone 4. On paper, it looks great.... we'll see!

I just picked mine up from Phones4u. £32pm, 24mth contract with 600mins, unlimited texts and internet. £50 for the phone so I'll just sell the Milestone to Cex and get £80 for it.
First impressions?
Bloody hell it is thin!!!! Screen is amazing and the thing is fast. Will post more when I've stopped playing with it! (and the phone)

Well what a fantastic bit of kit!! Had it 2 days now and so far can't fault it whatsoever, the screen is huge, bright and crisp, very quick UI a huge improvement on the HTC Touch HD i had a couple of years ago.
This is the 1st Android i've had so i'm still getting to grips with the KIES thing took me a while to figure out how to get music onto the phone but hey u can do it without wires from your pc/laptop so it's all good. Battery life doesn't seem too bad at all but i cant really tell yet as i haven't had it out of my hand!!!
The handset itself as people have already said is very thin and light feels almost delicate but until i get a decent cover/skin for it i'll be careful lol
One more point the sound through the headphines that come with the phone is the best i've heard on any phone including my itouch although i think that comes down to the headphones themselves also has Dolby 5.1 i believe.
Overall compared to the iphone 4 theres no contest unless of course your an Apple fanboy lol!
