Do they replace it with a new or 'factory refurb'?

Mine crashed during an update and was froze on the update screen. Took it in and they replaced it instantly for a new one! Good times smile

Indeed it is, unless you deal with Apple over the phone, in which case there's another £7.44 for collection and return service.
