Thanks, that's what my own research tells me as well- only the ppp has the 30 bhp extra.
Unfortunately (for me as I don't want to spend that much) this was apparently only available post 2009 so the earlier 2008 cars only have the the possibility of pp, although to be fair the standard power is more than someone of my modest driving ability could safely or legaly use on most UK roads anyway so I don't see the ppp as an absolute must.
Edit- then there's add's like this one listing a "performance sport pack plus" and in the description a 'sport pack' on a 2008 car. From looking at the steering wheel I assume this is a pp car, with an incorrect description, or am I missing something?

there was no such thing as a sport pack plus on the c63.it makes you think that if the seller does'nt even know what is on the car properly what else dont they really know about the car.Unfortunately (for me as I don't want to spend that much) this was apparently only available post 2009 so the earlier 2008 cars only have the the possibility of pp, although to be fair the standard power is more than someone of my modest driving ability could safely or legaly use on most UK roads anyway so I don't see the ppp as an absolute must.

the only advice i would give is that i would buy a car like this from a main dealer that comes with a full 12 month warranty.
I suspected that description was wrong- it is in fact a pp car.
I'm not seriously looking at the moment, so I don't have any interest in the car I posted above, won't change untill March-April and after three amg's in a row was thinking of something completely different but a c63 for around 30k is very tempting
I would consider a private/non franchise dealer for any car, I always buy on condition/desired spec/price. I often find dealers get the spec wrong, or miss out desirable options which it would benefit them to list- someone not knowing every single detail of a car doesn't make me suspicious, not if everything else with the car is as it should be.

Does the Performance Pack include a modified exhaust ??? Some of the cars which say they have a 'Performance Pack' say modified or sports exhaust.
I thought the exhaust stayed the same???
Really like the C63 Estate as it appeals to my current situation. Wife, 9 month old baby, 2 dogs ( one very big )
Prices seem to be quite stable 35 - 40k for a good car with PP and Estates seem to be few and far between.
Would be my wifes daily car - she only does max 10 miles a day.
Is it really not worth looking at a car without the PP ???
Also does anybody know the cost of the DMS upgrade and what it includes ???

I'm sure the exhaust stays standard, even with the pp- I think it's loud enough, epic sound in my opinion!
DMS according to their site take the bhp from 457 to 520 and torque from 442 to 486.
http://www.dmsautomotive.com/models.asp?upid=8
Looks like a dramatic upgrade- can anyone comment of how accurate this is, anyone used DMS to tune their C63? Would be interesting to know how much it costs too, the ppp is a massively expensive option for the 2009+ cars.

Done a bit of digging - The reason the upgrade is so big is because the C63 engine is a de tuned version of the E63 engine that is 525hp.
I suppose rather than tuning it they're unleashing it!?
They also remove the V Max limiter, improve the throttle response and gear shifts with Black Series maps.
From what I've read its about £1500
I think the exhaust is no different.

If she's only doing 10 miles a day the car won't appreciate it. The engine won't even get warmed up, let alone the gearbox. Might not be the best car for her in my honest opinion.I thought the exhaust stayed the same???

If the DMS upgrade is around £1500 then that's quite good value. I know it's not a like for like comparison but still, the performance pack plus is apparently £4995 on a 2009+ car.
Of course it's debatable weather it need's either, quite a few owners say the standard performance pack is all the upgrade the car needs.
I think the car would be genuinly scary with a DMS 520 bhp upgrade plus all that extra torque.

This is a Kleeman map that gives 530 bhp. dms shouldn't really be that much different.Of course it's debatable weather it need's either, quite a few owners say the standard performance pack is all the upgrade the car needs.

What exactly to DMS do to get it from mid 400's to 525bhp?
I reckon they must tickle it with the BS stickHow come Merc give you 30hp more with internal changes etc at great cost, yet DMS can stick a computer on it and within a couple of hours find another 70odd-hp. Think i'd rather have a genuine 30 and a warranty personally
