TBH I don't think that - at face value - their returns policy is too bad. Mine is an "agility" deal where I can buy the car or give it back. Given that I've never marked a car before and my stuff is always immaculate I'm not worried, and what they state as "acceptable" looks quite generous. You're allowed stuff like a couple of dings, small alloy scuffs and reasonable stone chippage.
I've also got a little C1 through Freedom Contracts (great little car - got teeny weeny snowies on it for winter) and the Citroen returns policy is a lot more stringent than MBs.

The returns policy is fair.
You are hiring the car, so you need to return it ready to retail.
When you trade a car you can have scratches, scuffed wheels, brakes that need doing, tyres that need replacing, they simply knock the price to sort them off the trade in price.
You pay either way, just that with a contract hire you see the bill.
With respect, it's not fair - see my post earlier on - i.e. forensic paint inspections and trying to reject bodywork from an approved MB body shop. You are hiring the car, so you need to return it ready to retail.

That said at 199 + vat I'd take it - but put some cash away for the end.

If they spell it out at the outset very clearly and you are within those parameters I can't see there would be much of a problem.
My wifes 250slk arrived a few weeks ago. Black with cream leather, it's a stunning car. The contract lists the size etc of acceptable marks on hand back, as someone else said the car is so cheap I don't have a problem having fully detailed at the end of the lease. Got ours from Gateway2leasing who were fine, they are just brokers for MB Corporate, the car took longer to arrive than expected but this was down to production.

how longs was delivery? I'm thinking of ordering one of these myself... did you have any options?can anyone else recommend any brokers(i've just requested a quote from Gateway2Lease) lings cars doesn't list the 250 AMG sport
Seriously tempted to go for the 250 AMG to replace the OH's car but the only thing putting me off is she tends to destroy alloys on any car she drives
Anyone know roughly how much an acceptable alloy refurb is going to set me back at the end of the term?
Edit: Nano2nd - ling has had the 250 AMG on the website for £320 p/m (3+23) for a while

I've had some quotes back on an SLK250AMG, on the face of it the no options, 3+23 10000mpa deal looks great value, however once you convert that into a more realistic 15k mpa deal(its a diesel after all), with essentials like heated seats, air scarf, parktronic, rain sensing wipers it doesn't seem such are great offering to me

If she's just brutal then these might not help, but could be worth a try: http://www.alloygator.co.uk/Nano2nd said:

"Essentials"? Really?I've come from a top-spec SL which had *everything* to an SLK and I didn't bother speccing anything extra at all over and above the standard AMG pack (although I have bought the Becker nav module). I've had it all and I don't miss any of it, however in retrospect I would spec parking sensors - the bonnet is quite long.

exactly! parking sensors .... its a cab, heated seats are a must for the cold ass leather winter mornings... air scarf is a bonus, more root off action! rain sensing wipers should really be standard IMOI've come from a top-spec SL which had *everything* to an SLK and I didn't bother speccing anything extra at all over and above the standard AMG pack (although I have bought the Becker nav module). If you want a family bus/ tank the R300 CID is on offer at £385 per month inc vat on a 6+35 plan, through Pantheon Leasing, 10k miles pa.
That doesn't sound that brilliant, tbh.I think there's an optimum length/mpa for these deals - ideally you want something that means you don't wear out a set of tyres or need anything but a minor service.
A 1 year 15K for example

The cheap deals on E-Classes don't seem to be so thick on the ground these days. Will they be coming back?

There must be massive manufacturer support for such a deal. I dread to think how much a private purchaser would lose in depreciation on a brand new R300 CDI over two years and 20k miles. Twenty grand? Thirty?
Including the deposit my SLK 250 CDi AMG comes out at just about 11K for 24 months and 30K miles. What would the depreciation on that car be in a similar period? If I'd bought one privately with cash then tried p/xing it or selling it privately what would I get? I'd rather lease - I know what I'm letting myself in for on a cash-per-month basis and I won't get buttfked come sale/px time.
